7th Regular Session of the Technical and Compliance Committee, Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia

TCC7 will be addressing many issues tasked from WCPFC, but one key output is expected to be a proposal for an update of the Conservation and Management Measure for Bigeye and Yellowfin Tuna (CMM 2008-01). Other key outputs expected will be further clarification of the Commission Compliance Monitoring Scheme; a proposal for the optimization of operational costs of Commission services; a decision on the VMS system for the future; Standards and Specifications for the Record of Fishing Vessels; a proposal for a Catch Documentation scheme; a proposal for implementation of the FAO Port State Measures Agreement; results of a trial for direct data entry of key ROP data for enhancement of this initiative; a review of the Results of the EHS_ Special Management Area operation; and a review of several CMMs that are due to expire or are scheduled for review this year to enhance the overall compliance capacity of the Commission.
