Australia

Australia designates all of its ports for inspections under WCPFC CMM 2017-02.

For a detailed list, see: Australia’s Designated Ports under CMM 2017-02 ( 1.46 KB )

Australia only allows foreign fishing vessels into its ports—and the landing of their catch—if they receive explicit approval. The domestic process is described in these guidelines: Port Access Guidelines .

Port permits are handled case by case and can take up to 7 days to process. Approval is not guaranteed. Australia is also a party to the Port State Measures Agreement and meets all obligations under that agreement, including rules on port entry, inspection priorities, and notifying flag States.
