A Conservation and Management Measure (CMM) is a rule or proposal that members of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) agree upon to protect fish stocks, ensure sustainable fishing, and address related issues such as bycatch (unintended catch of non-target species).
In 2013, the WCPFC established CMM 2013-06, which sets out questions and criteria to assess how new proposals will affect small island developing States (SIDS) and territories in our region. This page collects all past proposals (drafts, revisions, or related measures) that were assessed against CMM 2013-06.
How This Page Is Organized
In 2019, at WCPFC15, the Commission asked the Secretariat to post all CMM 2013-06 templates and related assessments on the Article 30 web pages. The tables below group proposals by topic:
- Tropical Tuna and Other Target Species
- Bycatch-Related Proposals (e.g., seabirds, sharks, turtles)
- MCS, RFV, and Reporting-Related Proposals (e.g., vessel monitoring, port measures)
- Other Proposals (e.g., capacity reduction, access agreements, observer protection)
For each proposal, you can click the title to view more information, or click the PDF icon to download the full document.
