The Secretariat welcomed a new ICT Manager at the end of the third quarter. Mr. Caleb Joseph took up the role in late July, just in time for the 22nd Regular Session of the Scientific Committee in August. Caleb brings national and regional experience in supporting fisheries meetings, strong technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering effective and reliable information and communication technology services. In his new role, he will lead the Secretariat’s ICT functions and contribute to strengthening the systems, technologies, and services that support our staff, Members, and other stakeholders.
The Secretariat also welcomed a new Data Entry and Support Technician, Mr. Mavrick Dores, who took up the position in May 2026. Mavrick joins the Secretariat's CCM Support team and contributes to the development of HelpDesk materials, including instructional videos to facilitate CCM engagement with WCPFC databases and online systems. Mavrick also provides key support in managing CCM's data collected through the WCPFC Regional Observer Programme (ROP).
The Secretariat's security team went through a change in personnel in 2026, as well, with the departure of Rainey Luhda, who took on a new role with the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) National Oceanic Resources Management Authority (NORMA), and the arrival of Apsai Thomsin, who joined an experienced security team charged with maintaining the safety and security of WCPFC Headquarters.
